Clint from Geevor mine visited class 3 today to teach us about tin mining and prepare us for our visit next month. We got to dress up, look at minerals and things made from tin and have a go with some tools. Maya even got to load the dynamite!
In the story of Thomas and the Tinners, Thomas meets some little fairy miners called Buccas. It says in the story they were ‘not knee high’. We measured ourselves and worked out that a Bucca is about 4 times smaller than us. We are using this information to make our own model Buccas. Some of us started this today.
